Biyak (Juan Karlos)

Artist: Juan Karlos
Release: 2019
Tempo: 60bpm
Key: G
Baam (Momoland)

Artist: Momoland
Words and Music:Bumi (범이), Nangi & Shinsadong Tiger
Album: Fun To The World
Release: 2018
Tempo: 125 beats per minute
Key: Fm
Details: This is the new song from Momoland that I get to know from my daughter. I remember when the first time watched it in Youtube, it has only 2 million views. Before this song released, she was a fan of Bbooom Bboooom. Gladly we have two songs now to listen from Momoland instead of 1 song all day long.

I don’t understand Korean dialect but it is obvious to see where is the verse, refrain and chorus since they are using same lyrics over and over.

Just like with the first few songs of Momoland, Baam has a very catchy melody which is easy for everyone to appreciate regardless of lyrics. There are also part of the song written in English. I remember, among the other K-pop group, Momoland is good in English I believe they can sing an English song but due to their love in their culture as Korean they rejected to do so.  Continue reading Baam (Momoland)

Behold (Then Sings My Soul) by Hillsong

Artist: Hillsong Worship
Words and Music: Joel Houston
Album:  Let There Be Light
Release: 2016
Tempo: 73 beats per minute
Key: E
Details: Have you ever experience of being happy and you wouldn’t notice that you are singing unconsciously. Not only when we are happy but also when we  are in love. That is how this song about. As they appreciated God’s love and everything He did, they soul or unconsciously they sing.

Actually the best part here is when we can still sing despite of challenges. If everything gone wrong, when you feel like you are abandoned, that the promise of God will not happen anymore to your life, yet you still sing, that will be great worship.  Continue reading Behold (Then Sings My Soul) by Hillsong

Born Again (Cory Asbury)

Artist: Cory Asbury
Words and Music: Amanda Cook, Cory Asbury & Steffany Gretzinger
Album: Reckless Love
Release: 2018
Tempo: 64 beats per minute
Key: F#
Details: John 3:3, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

I remember when I’m attending a local prayer meeting group, they said that the only way for us to know that God is working with you is when we see changes in your life. As born again (not a religion) there will be changes through Christ building our lives. We can easily say that we are attending religious group now, that we are singing praise and worship songs but this is all worthless if there will be no changes to see in our lives. Be Still (Hillsong)

Artist: Hillsong Worship
Words and Music: Ben Fielding & Reuben Morgan
Album: There Is More
Release: 2018
Tempo: 75 beats per minute
Key: F
Details: In trials, sometimes we say if God is still in control or should I start worrying for myself as if He will not be there to help me. Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know I am God. In a word “God” there are countless meaning from it and you can only be still if you know Him.

I remember this verse as an encouragement not only in hard times but also in knowing God. Knowing God means absorbing His words through Jesus, through bible. Because it will be difficult for us to trust someone we don’t know. That is why in Psalm 46:10, there is a declaration of, “know I am God”.

If we know God, and what He is in our lives, it won’t be difficult to be “still”.

About playing song, it is actually very easy to play as it has only 4 chords progression throughout the verse, chorus, bridge and tag. Start listening to song for the rhythm and everything will come easy. Continue reading Be Still (Hillsong)
